The Roe v. Wade reversal was shocking, especially considering 71% of young people identified as pro-choice at the time. It was clear our voices were being ignored. Extremist politicians weren't listening. And sitting quietly was not an option. If we were going to be heard, we needed to think outside our boxes.
Since shouting wasn't working, we decided to use our softest, cuddliest voices instead. We channeled our rage into creating something both powerful and perfectly precious. And thus, the official protest plushie was born.
All proceeds went to Planned Parenthood. For each Woombie purchased, another was sent directly to the office of an anti-choice politician. We thought maybe with a womb of their own, they'd finally leave ours alone.
The outcome? Tons of buzz, tons of money raised, and tons of recognition — including Ad Age’s Small Agency Pro Bono Campaign of the Year (2023) and a Shorty Award for Social Activism (2023).
